Conference venue (the white building on the right)
Acesss to the conference hotel (Hotel Diplomat)
We describe here the access to the conference hotel (Hotel Diplomat, Evropska 16, 16041 Prague, Czech Republic) and the access to the conference from the hotel by public transport. Going to the venue by car is discouraged due to the lack of parking places in the Lesser Quarter. The venue is only 2 stations by underground For access to the other hotels we recommend please check the relevant links to the hotels at the Accommodation page.

Access by air
Flights arrive at Prague Ruzyne airport ( airport code PRG). It is served by many airlines. It is actually quite simple to go to the conference hotel from the airport. Emerge from the arrival hall and go to he public transport bus station. Take bus 119 to Dejvická (around 24 min). At the end station walk 150m in the opposite direction of the driving direction of the bus, Hotel Diploma is on the left then. Buses run from 04:30 in the morning until 00:30.

Warning
: Going by taxi is discouraged, Prage taxi drivers have not undeservedly earned a reputation for cheating tourists and asking for grossly excesive fares. If you feel you need a taxi from the airport then go to the tourist information at the airport and ask for help. We have also heard that the dollowing companies are reliable: AAA Radiotaxi - tel. 140 14 or 222 333 222, www.aaa-taxi.cz, City Taxi (phone 257 257 257, www.citytaxi.cz), Profi Taxi (phone: tel. 140 35 or 2 61 31 41 51, www.profitaxi.cz) Halotaxi (phone 244 114 411, www.halotaxi.cz), Sedop (phone 777 666 333, www.sedop.cz ). Nevertheless, there might be some black sheep around their drivers also........ . Maybe the best alternative to get a taxi from the airport here.

Access by train
Take the train to Prague Main station (Praha Hlavní Nádraží). For timetables check the site of Czech railways (České dráhy) or the multilingual website of the German Railways. Arriving at the main station, go to the underground "Metro" station. Take the red line into direction "Háje" to "Muzeum" (one stop). Change then to the gren line to go to "Dejvická" (end station). From there leave the station in the driving direction of the train and keep left. You will emerge on Evropská, the Hotel Diplomat is 100m further to the left. A map of the underground net can be found here.

Diplomat Hotel Prague is situated approximately 100 m past the square on the left-hand side.

From D5 Germany via Plzen:
At the end of the motorway follow the direction towards the city center ("Centrum") and "Motol". Approx. 1 km after the "Motol"hospital (a big blue building on your right) turn right at the large junction ("Vypich") on the top of the hill to the street "Patockova". Follow the road for about 5 km and then turn left to the street "Svatovítská". Drive ahead until you reach the circle square ("Vítezné námestí") at its end. Take the exit signposted "the Airport". Access to the venue from the conference hotel

Walk out from Hotel Diplomat turn right on the street (Evropska). In 100m you wil reach Dejvická station, fro thee take the underground (only one direction) to Malostranská station (second stop, 3-4 minutes). Exit there and walk down the road (direction to the Vltava river) for 100 metres until you come into an intersection. Turn there right into Letenská. Follow this a bit winding road for 500 m until you emerge on Lesser Quarter Square (Malostranské náměstí) There you will see a church and a white large building to the right of it with a large portal. Enter through it to the conference venue.

If you do not feel like walking, you can take tram number 12 (direction Barrandov), 20 (direction Barrandov) or 22 (direction Nádrazí Hostivar) from Malostranská underground station to Lesser Town Square, Malosatranské námestí (the tram goes through Letenska and stops directly on the square).

If you only go by underground from Dejvická to Malostranská it is enough to buy a short trip ticket for CZK 18,-, if you change to the tram a full fare ticket for CZK 26,- is necessary. 24 hour passes cost CZK 100,- for reasons probably only bureaucrats understand are 72 hours passes more expensive than three 24 hour passes (CZK 330,- versus CZK 300,-), so nobody buys them.
