The scientific programmer will develop and maintain environmental databases, and aid with programming and usage of GIS and statistics software needed for the scientific analyses and syntheses.

The main focus of the work will be to develop and maintain databases, models and statistical routines. The major tasks of the successful candidate will include maintaining and merging open access databases on environmental variables in the available computational facilities at the Baltic Sea Centre, designing numerical solutions and conceptualization, designing optimal infrastructure for the modelling and data storage needs, and supporting the research staff in developing and performing the statistical analyses and model tools.
