Project description

The Department of Physics have a postdoctoral fellow opening for an outstanding individual to work with Dr. Peter Amann on the development of x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) towards applications under realistic catalytic conditions. This is done in connection with a newly built ambient pressure XPS instrument that was commissioned in the spring this year.

Main responsibilities

The successful candidate will build the new devices in close contact with industrial partners and scientists centered at Stockholm University, Stanford University and DESY research center in Hamburg, Germany. The candidate will be responsible for build-up, testing, conducting as well as evaluation and interpretation of spectroscopic results. Further, the candidate will support the use of the developed equipment also for other scientists. Utilizing the new designs, the scientific work will focus on CO/CO2 reduction to generate fuels and will be performed in the XSolaS group, providing a stimulating atmosphere of well-experienced researchers in the field of spectroscopy on catalyst materials. For more information:

The postdoctoral fellow will be positioned at Stockholm University with frequent travels to DESY research center in Hamburg to conduct synchrotron-based measurements.
