The Division of Chemical Physics

The Division of Chemical Physics was formed in the Autumn of 2011 by merging of the previous Molecular Physics and part of the Quantum Chemistry divisions. It has about 50 members including faculty, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, diploma workers, and guest researchers.

PhD student in Experimental Studies at DESIREE of Mutual Neutralisation Reactions

We are inviting applications for a PhD student in experimental studies at DESIREE of mutual neutralisation reactions relevant to planetary atmospheres. At DESIREE, a new and unique experimental facility located at Stockholm University, cutting-edge techniques are now available allowing studies of quantum-state resolved reactions with atomic and small molecular ions, and reactions with internally cold complex molecular ions. We will control internal ion excitation energies and collision energies from the meV to the keV range to mimic reactions in planetary atmospheres, shock waves, and combustion plasmas. Ref. No. SU FV-2952-18, closing date: 2 October 2018.

Postdoctoral Fellow in Theoretical Modeling of Electrocatalytic Hydrogen Generation

The Department of Physics have an immediate opening for a postdoctoral position for which we invite applications from outstanding individuals. The specific project aims to conduct theoretical studies, development and modeling to support and guide the experimental effort in the area of electrocatalysis with focus on hydrogen evolution from glycerol and sugar acids. The theoretical modeling will be based on computational screening of electrode materials using state-of-the-art scaling relations and electronic structure calculations. Ref. No. SU FV-2696-18, closing date: 15 October 2018.
