The CoPS division

The group of Cosmology, Particle Astrophysics and Strings (CoPS) at the Physics Department (“Fysikum”) of Stockholm University was formed in 2004. Our research is focused on dark matter (both theory and experiment), dark energy (both theory and experiment), cosmology, string theory and general relativity. We are also members of the Oskar Klein Centre.

PhD student in machine learning the Universe’s initial conditions

We are searching for an outstanding PhD candidate with a high intrinsic motivation to study the origin and evolution of cosmic structure using galaxy surveys and cutting-edge data science methods. Ref. No. SU FV-3407-21, closing date: 5 November 2021.

Postdoctoral Fellow in axion astrophysics and cosmology

We are searching for an outstanding individual to conduct original research on theoretical, phenomenological or observational aspects within astroparticle physics and cosmology, with a particular focus on axions and dark matter. SU FV-3695-21, closing date: 12 December 2021.

Postdoctoral Fellow in instrumentation and data analysis for CMB experiments

We are advertising a postdoc position to work with Dr. Jon E. Gudmundsson on novel research in instrumentation, simulation, and data analysis for experiments studying the cosmic microwave background (CMB), including SPIDER, the Simons Observatory, the LiteBIRD satellite, and CMB-S4. Ref. No. SU FV-3245-21, closing date: 15 January 2022.

Postdoctoral Fellow in Modelling and Machine Learning for LSST (3)

We are searching for outstanding individuals to conduct original research on computational modelling and/or advanced machine-learning for analysis of photometric datasets. Ref. No. SU FV-3326-21, closing date: 15 January 2022.

Postdoctoral Fellow in machine learning of Universe’s initial conditions

We are searching for an outstanding individual to conduct original research on the origin and evolution of cosmic structure using cosmological survey data and novel machine learning methods. Ref. No. SU FV-3441-21, closing date: 15 January 2022.

Postdoctoral Fellow in precision comology with Type Ia supernovae from ZTF and LSST

We are searching for a outstanding individual to conduct original research on modelling and/or analysis of Type Ia supernova observations for precision cosmology. SU FV-3507-21, closing date: 15 January 2022.
