For comparison purposes it would be interesting to collect data also from the Baltic Proper. Askö's location is ideal for this study. I am planning to examine the mixing of the land fresh water input to the open sea by AC9 (optical absorption meter) and CTD-90M (multi-parameter logging probe for oceanographic and limnological measurement of physical, chemical and optical parameters). I am also interested in examining the variation of the coastal ice conditions. The plan consists of three campaigns; one during extensive ice coverage, one during the melting season, and one in open water conditions.
