Modeling as a tool to study the Baltic Sea ecosystem - Possibilities and challenges
4 + 1 ECTS, 18 - 24 mars vid Askölaboratoriet
Kursen ska ge deltagarna en god överblick över befintliga modelleringsverktyg som används för att studera Östersjöns ekosystem och dess dynamik. Målen är att introducera lämpliga modelleringsverktyg som kan stödja kursdeltagarnas egna experimentella studier, att undersöka hur lokala eller specifika modellstudier kan ingå i ett ekosystem-perspektiv, samt att ta reda på hur förvaltningens behov ser ut på området.
The objective is to provide the participants with a good overview of existing modeling approaches for studying the Baltic Sea ecosystem and its dynamics. As a synthesis the course will produce a document that addresses the following question: Which are the most central knowledge gaps in describing the Baltic Sea ecosystem and how could modeling in combination with other approaches contribute to fill these gaps?
