Compartment models are often used to describe the outcome of chemical reactions and modelling population dynamic. The aim of course is to learn the basics of compartment modelling, how to derive ordinary differential equations for a given problem and the principles for analysis and solution of differential equations. Another goal of the course is get familiarised with the modern techniques for dynamic modeling and their application to aquatic and terrestrial ecosystem modeling, and in particular to the problem of nutrients circulation and food web dynamics in the Baltic Sea.
