The CoPS division

The group of Cosmology, Particle Astrophysics and Strings (CoPS) at the Physics Department (“Fysikum”) of Stockholm University was formed in 2004. Our research is focused on dark matter (both theory and experiment), dark energy (both theory and experiment), cosmology, string theory and general relativity. We are also members of the Oskar Klein Centre.

PhD student in Observational Cosmology

The afterglow of the hot big bang, the cosmic microwave background (CMB), illuminates a number of key processes in the history of our universe. Together with other astrophysical observables, characterization of the CMB has lead to the development of an extraordinarily simple cosmological framework. However, various challenges and unanswered questions persist. Ref. No. SU FV-0342-19, closing date: 3 March 2019.

PhD students in Theoretical Work in Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics

Several PhD openings are available for students to work with Dr. Katherine Freese on topics in astroparticle physics and cosmology including dark matter, dark energy, inflation, neutrino properties from cosmological data, and cosmic microwave background. Ref. No. SU FV-0343-19, closing date: 3 March 2019.

Division lunch meetings

Informal talks are given by division members every Monday at 12:15. For further information please contact Edvard Mörtsell.
